Early Trauma and Perception

Trauma can be a single event, or a series of events where you don't feel safe. It's the effect that it has on the body; the sympathetic nervous system, endocrine system, immune system and memory. It takes time to heal, the earlier we start, the better.

When your child doesn't listen ...

There can be very little that is more frustrating, than trying to get your children ready for school in the mornings.  Teeth brushing can take forever and that's if you can even get the toothbrush in their mouths. And getting them out of the door can be a complete nightmare ... I mean, just how hard is it to put your flipping shoes on!

I speak from experience. As a mother of two children, I have had all the same struggles on school runs. Add in a child who has ADHD and struggles to listen or follow simple instructions and it's a recipe for disaster and I was literally losing my shizzle.

Or at least it was ...

That is, until I discovered the incredible power of music to reach my children where words failed.

The power of the mind and the power of music. A killer combination.

If I asked you what you wanted for your child, I know you would want your child to be happy, but I also bet you would want them to believe in themselves.  But what is a belief and why are they so important?

Our belief’s are the very essence of who we are. They are the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we are capable of and who we think we're going to be. And these stores are planted in our minds in early childhood. Between the ages of 2 and 7, our children are in a hyper learning phase called the imprinting stage, which is  essential for our survival. Our brainwaves are in theta, which is much slower than when we are adults and it makes us highly suggestible, but it means that we are absorbing everything around us and accepting it as fact.  It's one of the reasons that childhood is so magical.
