When your child doesn't listen ...

There can be very little that is more frustrating, than trying to get your children ready for school in the mornings.  Teeth brushing can take forever and that's if you can even get the toothbrush in their mouths. And getting them out of the door can be a complete nightmare ... I mean, just how hard is it to put your flipping shoes on!

I speak from experience. As a mother of two children, I have had all the same struggles on school runs. Add in a child who has ADHD and struggles to listen or follow simple instructions and it's a recipe for disaster and I was literally losing my shizzle.

Or at least it was ...

That is, until I discovered the incredible power of music to reach my children where words failed.

I'd been running music sessions for children for 6 years, when I made the discovery. I had always known the power of music to teach younger children, let's face it, we use the alphabet and counting songs to teach our children all the basics, before they start school.  What I hadn't realised, was that I could teach my children so much more. 

Like how to brush their teeth for 2 whole minutes, how to tidy up and how to get their shoes and coats on in 5 seconds flat.  And not to mention songs for dropping my kids off and for bedtimes. In fact that's exactly how my business, LaLa Tigers began.  

Little was I to know that these songs would work so well, that they would lead me to write songs to help children live to their full potential. To introduce powerful concepts like gratitude, self-belief and mindfulness to children.  That I would go on to do a TEDx talk about my work and that I would introduce the world of thoughts and feelings as energy to children, with the incredible vehicles of music and play.

So I've put together a collection of my original music workshops and activities in the Tiger's Time Challenge.  To show you just how magical and fun, getting your kids ready can actually be if you throw in a little bit of music and fun.  So if you're ready to stop shouting and start singing ... if you're ready to dance all the way to school, nursery or wherever, come and play.  Because if I can teach them these things, can you even imagine what else I can teach them?
